I love Values.
It’s where we start every coaching relationship.
I see them as the foundation for everything else.
In my life too.
But recently I realised that Values isn’t quite the right word for how I see them, what I mean when I think of them, what they feel like they are.
More and more I think of them as ingredients.
For what makes our particular lives, our unique work, the whole of us, feel good - have energy, satisfaction, peace, success, delight…
For what makes us feel like us.
They are deeply personal.
We each have our own unique recipe, created from the inside out, no one size fits all.
They are a beautiful recipe with a natural balance.
If one or more of these ingredients isn’t present, or there isn’t enough of it, we simply don’t feel as good, or as well used.
And if we’re feeling a little off, we can look at the recipe and see where we need to adjust the mix.
Noticing this has prompted me to look at mine, and reflect on the recipe of my life right now.
It’s helped me adjust the mix. More space is needed for simplicity - to slow down, have time in my own space, see the wood for the trees.
An easy place to start? Time in cafes with a coffee and a notebook :-)
What are your ingredients for a life that feels good?
And do you need to adjust your recipe?
Wishing you all a wonderful week,
